OAK TREES
IN A STORM
Laurel Oak after storm
Pictured below is the huge,
looming Laurel Oak that is in
our other neighbor's yard.  We have
been biting our nails over this
one for years, as it is at the end
of its life span and is just hanging
on by a thread.  In the first photo
you can see that much of that
big tree is over our house!
Considering the condition of the
many other Laurel Oaks I saw in
town that tree stood remarkably
well.  It will have to come down
now, tho; we hope they will do so.
Pictured above is the huge Water
Oak that stands in the backyard
of the little yellow house shown
with the Laurel Oak down all
over the front yard.  It stood
majestically thru Charley, and
in its big strong arms it was able
to catch a few ominous pine
branches that were flying by.
We love that tree.  Probably was
in part responsible for protecting
us from winds, as it is on the
side of us from which the wind
was blowing.
Close up of broken middle.
That branch went the other way!
