We are truly animal lovers and have an extensive collection often goofy-acting pets that make excellent subjects for photographs.  Here you will observe our chinchillas, two babies arrived in October 2007, twins.  Our cats are all quite silly and have become one of suze's favorite things to photograph.

Some shots  will show you pit bulls can be really sweet , gentle and loving.  A few have animals from our past who have passed on but are held dear in our hearts.  This includes the black kitty, Midnight, who died a premature death, from, we believe, a coral snake bite. The dobie dog and kitty he is with are no longer with us. All the rest are still with us. You might call it a zoo!

We also have some visits from painted buntings, a rare species that spends winters in Florida.  The local birds like our backyard and feeders.  Scroll further for wildbird shots.

The Hooten family is quite artistic.  I like the
graphics end of art, altho, I have been known
to do painting, sculpture, and batik.   I also
love doing the photography.

On the following page you will see some of
the handy work of Mark, with his paintings
and the beautiful flowers,
fruits, and various plants he has grown.
Also our son is artistic and there are a couple
of his things on here as well.

These items are strictly for your viewing
pleasure, so please sit back and enjoy!

This lovely shot was taken by Suze on the Buddha's birthday in 2007, which just happened to fall on Easter.  The florals were grown and arranged by Mark for an altar in honor and celebration of that special day.  Notice how the emerald on the forehead glows like a wonderful greenlight halo.  No special effects here, just a flash that got reflected back.  Click to enlarge.
